BIOGRAPHY
2011-present: principal of the Luminous Point LLC, involved in large scale image analysis and automation systems for Array Tomography, High Content Screening, laser scanning imaging, remote control of automated microscopes and image databases.

2010-2011: following Strand Life Sciences acqusition of image indexing technology from 100X Imaging Inc, Nenad served as the Product Manager for the image visualization and database system for microscopy. Responsible for specifying all features of the AVADIS IMG product, as well as creating marketing strategy for academic customers. Currently AVADIS IMG platform is offered as the enterprise solution for large image management installations. In 2012 the system was adopted by the Institut Curie, Paris.

2008-2010: co-founded 100X Imaging Inc., a microscopy automation company. Served as President/CTO and directed development of data management and High Content Screening software.

2005-2008: with Nico Stuurman and Ron Vale at the Vale Laboratory, University of California San Francisco co-founded and developed the micro-manager - a new Open Source software platform and community project for automated microscopy. The project was originally sponsored by the Sandler Foundation. In 2007 the project was awarded a 4-year R01 grant from the NIH. The grant was extended in 2012 for another 3 years. Nenad is still actively participating in development of micro-manager.

2000-2005: lead engineer for the ImageXpress 5000 software at Axon Instruments and later at Molecular Devices. ImageXpress 5000 software was a result of a five year effort to develop an enterprise level solution for acquisition and automated analysis for cell-based drug discovery.

1998-2000: at Axon Instruments, developed hardware-based transient cancellation algorithm for the new generation of patch clamp amplifiers (MultiClamp product family) as well as the system for adaptive interference filtering for electrophysiology recordings.

1997: authored the S-Probe software for real time movement frequency analysis in microscopy imaging of tissues at the Laboratory of Richard Bookman at the University of Miami.

Prior to permanently moving to United States in 1998, co-founded engineering company TehnoCAD, served as the VP of Software and led the development of various commercial applications in structural engineering, image analysis and multi-media databases.

Started as a research engineer at the University of Belgrade on various projects in computer vision, including software applications for automatic analysis for intra-vascular ultrasound images and digital angiography.

Holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Belgrade.
